Join Student Organizations, Leadership, and Service for our third annual Leadership Week! We invite students, faculty, and staff to experience the week-long opportunities to engage both personally and professionally through a range of programs and workshops designed to develop and strengthen your leadership skills and grow as a leader at Vanderbilt University and beyond. Leadership Week will take place the week of February 16 – February 20th in the Leadership and Service Space at 2402 Vanderbilt Place. Workshops and programs may cover one of the four themes of leadership: career, community engagement, mindfulness and wellbeing, and self-development.

Monday, February 16th from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. : Leadership Week KICKOFF on Rand Wall/The Commons
Monday, February 16th from 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. : From the Group Chat to the Ballot Box: Turning Awareness into Action discusses trending topics in group chats to decisions made at the ballot box, undergraduate students are already participating in civic life, often without fully recognizing the scope of their influence. From the Group Chat to the Ballot: Turning Awareness into Action is a 45-minute interactive workshop designed to help students identify, strengthen, and intentionally use their civic power.

Tuesday, February 17th from 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. : Becoming a Connected Leader will highlight the new volunteer management platform on-campus called “Get Connected.” Get Connected is your one-stop shop for volunteering opportunities. Explore easily, sign-up quickly, and track your volunteer hours efficiently. Join us to learn more about how to give back in the Nashville community!

Wednesday, February 18th from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. : Leading with Purpose: Strategy, Ethics, and Community Impact helps students develop the skills to lead change through strategic action and ethical communication. Participants will learn how to identify community needs, create meaningful initiatives, and communicate responsibly to inspire positive impact.

Thursday, February 19th from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. : Identifying and Embracing Your Leadership Style aims to encourage attendees to identify their individual strengths, and skill sets to craft their own distinct leadership style. During this session, attendees will have the opportunity to take part in a brief assessment to discover their MBTI type and learn how specific traits for each type can be translated into leadership qualities. With an emphasis on self-efficacy, the purpose of this presentation is to demonstrate that all students are potential leaders in their community, field of study, or future profession.

For fall 2026, SOLS will start taking applications during Leadership Week on Monday, February 16th to Sunday, April 12th at 11:59pm. The LeaDORES Certificate Program is a dynamic 5-week leadership development experience designed to equip Vanderbilt students with essential skills for leading with purpose and impact. Grounded in the Student Leadership Competencies framework, this program will take place on Wednesdays in the late afternoon/evening and will explore key areas of leadership development through interactive workshops, reflection, and peer engagement. Whether you’re new to leadership or looking to grow your existing skills, The LeaDORES Certificate Program offers a meaningful opportunity to elevate your leadership journey.
