Food & Beverage
General Guidelines
After the appropriate facility has been reserved, food, beverage and alcohol arrangements may be made. All food, beverage and alcohol arrangements are the responsibility of the group reserving the space. For more information regarding the alcohol policy please reference our Alcohol Policies page.
Student Organizations:
Events hosted by Student Organizations in the Student Centers’ Signature Events Spaces are not required but are encouraged to use a caterer from our approved catering list.
All Student Organizations are required to post the following verbiage for events where food is not prepared by a licensed caterer. Click this link to print sign.
University Departments:
Events hosted by University Departments in the Student Centers’ Signature Events Spaces are encouraged to utilize Vanderbilt Catering, or are otherwise required to use an approved caterer from our approved catering list for all full service meals (catering staff present).
Exceptions can be made for drop-off, dietary and cultural meal needs, with approval from your event manager.
We also require that all catering setups and needs be discussed in advance with your event manager and caterer.
VUMC/ External Organizations:
External Organizations hosting events in any of our Student Centers spaces are required to request a quote from Vanderbilt Catering. If a group’s needs cannot be met by Vanderbilt Catering, an alternate caterer may be used from our approved catering list. We also require that all catering setups and needs be discussed with your event manager and caterer within three weeks of contract submission.
*Exceptions can be made for dietary and cultural needs.
