Project Description

Many times, college students are so occupied on campus with schoolwork and other activities that they fail to venture out into their surroundings, including the natural wilderness around them.  The members of Outdores want to break this cycle through opportunities outside of the Vandy Bubble and exploration of the natural beauty Tennessee has to offer. The group’s mission is also to share these opportunities and experiences with the international students on campus to diversify and expand their knowledge of Vanderbilt and the greater Nashville area.  Through excursions and engaging in discussions, these members seek to learn about how international students think and react to outdoor activities whilst learning about American culture. These students also want to create bonds between the international community and the rest of Vanderbilt so that they can better integrate onto campus and American life and culture while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
