The Global Consortium of Entrepreneur Center’s (GCEC) recognized the Wond’ry as a finalist for the “Global Outstanding Entrepreneur Center of the Year” award.

Established in 1997, the GCEC stands as the premier leadership organization addressing the emerging topics of importance to the nation’s university-based centers for entrepreneurship and innovation. It has become the industry vehicle by which the top, established entrepreneurship and innovation centers, as well as emerging centers, can work together to share information, develop programs and initiatives, and collaborate and assist each other in advancing, strengthening, and celebrating the contributions and impact of individual centers–as well as the overall role of university-based entrepreneurship and innovation center. The purpose of the GCEC is to become the key junction for university-based entrepreneurship and innovation centers from across the world to collaborate, communicate, and jointly advance excellence in entrepreneurship and innovation through the unique role and position of the centers in the academic and business communities.

The “Global Outstanding Entrepreneur Center of the Year” award honors a university entrepreneurship or innovation center that is 5 years old or less, who has had a significant impact on their respective constituent community and has achieved significant and major milestones for the development of the center from conception to the current year.

“Being recognized as a finalist for this award is a tremendous honor…especially when one considers that the Wond’ry has been only in existence for less than an entire calendar year,” stated Evans Family Executive Director of the Wond’ry, Robert Grajewski. “This recognition by our peer group of other university innovation and entrepreneur centers is truly rewarding and is a testament of the hard work, effort, and vision of the Wond’ry team in creating and implementing programs that are truly innovative, impactful, and resonate.”

The GCEC annual conference was held this year in Halifax, Nova Scotia with over 500+ university innovation and entrepreneur centers from across the world in attendance. In addition to being recognized for this award, Robert Grajewski also was selected to lead a panel discussion on the topic of “What Should University Entrepreneurship Centres Be Addressing?”

The GCEC conference provided a great opportunity for the Wond’ry team to network with other Centers while also further developing our role as an emerging thought leader in the realm of innovation and entrepreneurship.
