Matthew Blaize

Q. What is the fist thing you remember making?

A. My most memorable moment was when, over the summer, I led a group of minority high school kids from the 100 Kings program around the Makerspace and talked to them about what the space was intended for and what engineering is like for me. Just having the roles switched and being the one to spark an interest in engineering in other people really drove home how far I’ve come and how much farther I can still go.

Q. You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?

A. I would be Midnight Purple, so dark that to the regular eye they might confuse with just another black crayon but those attentive enough would be able to see me for the shining streak of shadow that I could be.

Q. What superhero would you be and why?

A.If it’s a superhero it has to be Beast Boy, because he was a goofball with doubts and fears but who learned and grew into a hero upon which others could depend.
