Mission and Department Information
The Office of Housing and Residential Education provides safe, secure, comfortable, accessible and healthy housing for its residents. Programming for residents builds communities in which students’ social needs for belonging, friendship, recognition, respect and dignity are met. These communities foster learning, personal development, academic achievement, and successful transitions for both new students and graduates.
Living In Nashville
Heralded as Music City, U.S.A., and the country-music capital of the world, Tennessee’s fast-growing capital city also shines as a leading center of higher education, appropriately known as the Athens of the South. Nashville has prospered from both labels, emerging as one of the South’s most vibrant cities in the process. All of this, combined with close to half of the population being under 35 years old, makes Nashville a fun and exciting city to begin or continue a career in higher education.
