Joining the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)

Joining an NPHC Fraternity or Sorority

The NPHC chapters on Vanderbilt’s campus seek to continue the traditions of excellence and involvement with campus life since their joining campus over 50 years ago. Throughout the fall and spring semester, potential members will have the opportunity to learn about and engage with current and alumni members of NPHC organizations. Each affiliate organization will implement its respective internationally sanctioned membership intake process. NPHC chapters will advertise their membership intake process through fliers labeled “Interest Meeting, Informational, Rush Tea or Meet N’ Greet”, which all students are welcome to attend to learn more about an organization or express interest. These fliers will always be posted outside of the Office of Greek Life or on social media (if allowed) no less than a week before said meeting. To learn more about NPHC organizations, interested students are encouraged to research their individual organization and chapter websites, follow organizations on social media, and attend various events hosted by NPHC organizations on campus. Please reach out to Tijuan Neal II with any questions or concerns.

Greek Mystique

Greek Mystique is the primary opportunity to learn about the organizations with the National Pan-Hellenic Council. This program features historical information about the NPHC on Vanderbilt’s campus, an overview of the groups currently function, and will give you an opportunity to meet members from each organization. This year’s event will take place on August 28th.

2025-2026 Intake Seminars

If you attend Greek Mystique, you will be able to forego attending another Intake Seminar session.

Intake Seminars provide critical information about the history and operation of the NPHC on Vanderbilt’s campus and is mandatory to join an NPHC organization on our campus. Failure to arrive on time may result in not receiving credit for attendance. No particular attire is required. Intake Seminars will be held as follows:

  • September 3rd in Buttrick 309
  • September 16th in Featheringill 306
  • October 1st in Buttrick 309
