Santeri Hirvikoski is an undergraduate student majoring in Economics and Political Science. He was born in Finland but grew up living in different cultures across four continents. He can speak English, Finnish, and some French. Santeri enjoys running, traveling, and volunteering during his free time. 

 

 

a smiling womanNaomi Letson is a returning student consultant at the ELC. As someone who grew up bilingual (English & Japanese) and across different cultures and continents, she understands the many struggles of adjusting to life and education in a different country and aims to help make this time a little less stressful. Before attending Vanderbilt, Naomi took two gap years to live and volunteer in different countries around the world and has since spent every summer and winter break getting back to her traveling roots! 

 

 

 

a smiling woman Sharon Mendieta Ramirez  is an M.Ed. candidate in the Learning and Design program. She is delighted to be joining the English Language Center’s Student Consultant team this year. During her free time, Sharon enjoys listening to music, watching theatre performances, and reading novels.

 

 

 

 

 

a man on a beachMatthew Rollo is pursuing an M.Ed. in World Languages (ELL and French). He has lived a bit all over France, where he taught EFL to students in French middle schools and also at the Université de Strasbourg. He enjoys traveling, music, reading, nature, and learning languages.

 

 

 

a smiling womanNauff Zakaria is a PhD candidate in the Department of Religion. She has also worked at Vanderbilt’s Center for Teaching, coaching graduate student TAs. Additionally, as a volunteer, Nauff facilitates our chatELC conversation group for spouses and partners of members of the Vanderbilt community.
