Vikash Khokhar

Interdisciplinary Materials Science

Overview:

Vikash Khokhar is a 2nd year PhD student in the Interdisciplinary Materials Science Program. He is working under Professor De-en Jiang. His research interest is computational material science, studying materials properties computationally using tools like DFT and MD Simulations. He is part of the National Science Foundation Center for Chemical Innovation 'The MXenes Synthesis, Tunability and Reactivity (M-STAR)' and studies organic-inorganic hybride-MXenes.  

Vikash is very passionate about science outreach and spreading scientific knowledge. Since he started graduate school, he has participated in several VINSE outreach programs. He has served for TN Maker-fest. In addition, Vikash has assisted with the cleanroom outreach program for high school students. Under the NanoGuides program, Vikash will continue to assist different outreach programs for VINSE and Engineering school.
