Jack Loken

Interdisciplinary Materials Science

Overview:

Jack is a second-year PhD student in the Interdisciplinary Materials Science program in Dr. John Wilson's ImmunoEngineering Lab. This past summer, he mentored a student through the VINSE REU program focusing on engineering extracellular vesicles to deliver immunostimulatory drugs and relevant cancer markers for a novel cancer vaccine. Jack graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. As an undergraduate, he worked with the Microtechnology, Medicine, and Biology Lab designing microfluidic tumor-on-a-chip models of renal cell carcinoma and triple-negative breast cancer. Outside of school, Jack enjoys climbing, cooking, and exploring new spots in Tennessee.
