Alexandria T. Carter

Biomedical Engineering

Overview:

Alexandria Carter is a first year graduate student in the King Lab doing research on 3D cancer models and the ability to make such models more clinically relevant. Her lab created a now provisionally patented device to more effectively culture cancer spheroids and tumor cell clusters, and she is continuing this work with her PhD.

Alex has been certified on everything from nanoparticle spin coating to cryo-SEM to photolithography and loves helping pass her variety of skills along! While she is doing cancer biology now, her background is largely in materials science having come from an energy optimization-focused materials science wet lab, so the clean room protocols and materials processes feel like a piece of home.
