The Xerox ColorQube 8570 Wax Printer is a color printer with wax cartridges rather than traditional ink cartridges, ideal for quick prototyping and paper microfluidics.  For paper microfluidics, the wax must be melted at the available hot plate.  The wax printer and corresponding hot plate are located in Specimen Prep.

• Wattman filter paper #1 available
  • 1-inch diameter circles
  • 3-inch diameter circles
• Maximum sample size - 8.5x11 inch printer paper (standard letter)
• Minimum feature size:
  • Post wax melting: ~1 mm
  • Pre wax melting: same as a standard color printer
• Pages per minute maximum: 40
