Overview:
Tara Stanley is a senior Ecology, Evolution & Organismal
Biology and Anthropology major with a minor in African American Diaspora
Studies who has been a member of VINSE's tech crew since the summer of 2021.
Within the cleanroom room, she specializes in photolithography, microfluidics,
and mask design. She is trained on a variety of tools outside of
photolithography and is familiar with deposition, imaging, and more. Tara also
has experience with the maintenance and repair of tools. As senior technical
crew, she now has extensive experience in mentoring and training users as well
as in course development and outreach. Her favorite part of her job is learning
various tools and processes in order to best assist researchers. She enjoys
being challenged with new research projects and doing process development to
ensure maximum efficiency.
Outside of the cleanroom, Tara is President of the Evolution at Vanderbilt
Organization for Students, President of the Vanderbilt Association of Student
Anthropologists, a researcher for the Vanderbilt ASCEND Initiative (Jorge Lab),
and a member of the Creanza Lab. She has experience doing ecological and
anthropological field work in Puerto Rico where she also designed and conducted
a mangrove characterization study.
