I value authenticity and truth in life which are reflected in my clinical practice. I strive to collaborate with clients by building a warm and trusting relationship to help them navigate stressors in college that can manifest in various ways.

Fluent in Korean. 

Claire Jang is a doctoral student studying Counseling Psychology at Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee. She received her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Purdue University Northwest in Indiana. She grew up in Seoul, South Korea, and has studied in/traveled to countries in East Asia and North America. Her exposure to diverse cultures, expertise in foreign languages and personal experience as an international student in the States make the foundation of clinical and research interests in multicultural practice in counseling psychology and advocacy for racial minorities.

Claire has more than 4 years of clinical training experience and has worked in various settings such as elementary school, community mental health center, college counseling, and private behavioral services. Her doctoral dissertation focuses on East Asians’ experience of racial prejudice related to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on their emotional well-being. She hopes to continue collaborating with scholars and clients to diversify the field of counseling psychology.

In her free time, Claire enjoys cuddling with cats, salsa dancing, visiting art exhibits, and home decorating.
