Office for Inclusive Excellence 9/18
The Office for Inclusive Excellence, in collaboration with DOS, is hosting several events throughout October to celebrate Disability Awareness Month. As part of the InclusAbility campaign, these events are open to the entire campus community. For more information, please reach out to officeforinclusiveexcellence@vanderbilt.edu. Below are our first events of the month:
InclusAbility Launch Party
- October 4, 3:00pm – 5:00pm
- Student Life Center Plaza (Rain Location: Student Life Center Ballroom)
- Come celebrate the start of Disability Awareness Month with the Office of the Vice Provost for Inclusive Excellence and the InclusAbility Campaign! Event will include music, free InclusAbility swag, pizza, and popsicles from King of Pops.
Access Music City: Community Service Event
- October 5, 3:00pm – 5:00pm
- Kissam Multipurpose Room 210
- Refreshments provided
- Access Music City is a program sponsored by EmpowerTN that provides a “win-win” for Nashville-area businesses, their current or potential patrons who have disabilities, and the Nashville community at-large by identifying accessibility-friendly facilities and services so that all citizens of and visitors to Nashville can make informed choices of where to go in the city. A short training on the program will be provided, followed by an opportunity for participants to go into the city itself to map accessible and inaccessible locations for the organization’s database.
