Cafe con Leche:

Last week, the Vanderbilt Association of Hispanic Students held their cultural showcase of the year: Café con Leche 2017 ! Over 300 students and members of the Latino community in Nashville celebrated Latino and Hispanic culture through authentic Latin American food and desserts and a variety of traditional dances and performances. It was a great night of celebrating diversity and tradition!

Fisk Jubilee Singers Commodore Cruise:
Last Sunday, the office of Inclusion Initiatives and Cultural Competence along with the Office of Housing and Residential Education hosted a Commodore Cruise centered around Fisk University and the world renown Fisk Jubilee Singers. Those in attendance were able to engage with the history and significance of this Higher Education Institution through a panel discussion. Some of the panelist included, Dr. Reavis L. Mitchell,  Dean of the School of Humanities Social and Behavioral Sciences, Dr. Sandra Barnes, Fisk graduate and Assistant Vice Chancellor of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at Vanderbilt University, and former Fisk Jubilee Singer and current Vanderbilt University staff member, Jordan Holland. After the panel, the students, faculty, and staff, were invited to attend the Fisk Jubilee Singers Spring Sing concert at the Ryman Auditorium.
