Farewell Scott Rausch

Posted by on Monday, June 17, 2013 in archives.

Scott Rausch, Associate Director of Residential Education, has accepted a new position as Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Residence Life at Emory University. Scott’s last day at Vanderbilt is June 21.

Scott has been a tremendous asset to the Office of Residential Education for the past 5 years. Under his leadership, RA training became a model one. He introduced learning outcomes to the process and transformed the training to meet the needs of the RAs by utilizing campus partners and assessment from the participants to make changes each year. Also during his time here, RA selection was updated and being an RA at Vanderbilt today is one of the most competitive leadership positions on campus.

This past year, Scott worked with the Martha Rivers Ingram Commons and helped in the effort which produced the best retention in Vanderbilt’s history between the first and second semester. He also was a tremendous mentor to the three new Area Coordinators.

Emory is very fortunate to have him to lead their Residence Life program. Scott, his wife Megan, and daughter Cailinn will be very much missed at Vanderbilt. Best wishes, Scott!
