Exciting changes ahead for Student Conduct & Academic Integrity

Posted by on Friday, June 14, 2013 in archives.

The Office of Student Conduct & Academic Integrity is pleased to announce several exciting changes to its operations that will occur over the next several months.

First, as of July 1, 2013, the office name will be changing to the Office of Student Accountability, Community Standards, & Academic Integrity. This change is intended to more accurately reflect the mission of the office, which is to promote good citizenship, respect, and responsibility through education, and to more clearly delineate and reinforce the importance of individual accountability and upholding community expectations.

In addition, the office’s policies and procedures are currently being revamped to ensure alignment with the new name and the mission of the office. Changes will include, among other things, the implementation of individual educational conferences, accountability action plans, and certain deferred sanction options. More specific information will be forthcoming as the 2013-2014 academic year approaches.

Finally, in August the office will be moving to Suite 301 in Rand Hall. This is a more convenient location for students, and will facilitate enhanced integration and communication with other departments within the Office of the Dean of Students.
