What do you love most about working in Vanderbilt Dean of Students?
I love talking with students about the overlap of their academic and personal interests. Everyone is involved in super interesting research or projects on and off campus.

What led you to Vanderbilt?
I came to Vanderbilt in Aug. 2016 to begin my Masters in Higher Education Administration program at Peabody. I graduated in May 2018, Go ‘Dores!

If you could give one piece of advice to a new staff member, what would it be?
If you need help, ask for it!

What challenges does your job present you with? What are you still learning? Did you always know that you wanted to work in student affairs?
No, I studied graphic design and thought I wanted to go into digital communications. I worked for a year in the Office of the Chancellor at my alma mater, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and fell in love with student affairs programming.

What is the best piece of professional advice you ever received?
“It’s better to keep up than to catch up.” – my high school principal

What is your favorite restaurant in Nashville?
Lockeland Table on Woodland St. in East Nashville. Community hour from 4-6pm!

Best way to spend a Saturday? 
Shelby Dog Park then lunch in 5 points!
