New plagiarism detection software at Vanderbilt: Turnitin

Starting this summer, Turnitin will replace SafeAssign as Vanderbilt’s plagiarism detection software. This powerful tool can help instructors teach and promote good citation practices as well as provide detailed feedback more efficiently.

You can log on to this fully online webinar from any computer at home or on campus, but participation is limited to those who preregister. Once you complete the registration, we will email you more details about how to access the online training.

New Brightspace Support Schedule

The Brightspace Support team has updated our support schedule. We are available for support between 7 AM and 11 PM Monday through Friday. From 5 PM to 11 PM on weekdays, users should anticipate receiving support for urgent requests only. Urgent requests may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Requests related to submissions due before 9 AM the following business day
• Requests regarding courses held before 9 AM the following business day
• Major outages

All other emails will be addressed when the team returns to normal support at 7 AM the following business day. While we’re out, we encourage you to utilize our on-demand resources to answer any questions that arise.
