Brightspace Content is Getting Upgraded
Beginning with the Fall 2027 semester, Brightspace courses will begin using the New Content Experience by default. Additionally, Instructors now have the ability to enable or disable the New Content Experience in their own courses ahead of the change in Fall 2027. This is a gradebook using weighted grading. In this example, the Instructor is calculating the final grade as follows:
- Assignments – 40%
- Quizzes – 10%
- Self-Assessments – 20%
- Discussions – 30%
Note that in some of the categories every grade item is weighed equally. You can see this in the Discussions category. In the Quizzes and Assignments categories, the graded items hold different weight.
