I’m excited to welcome both new and returning members of the Vanderbilt community back to our beautiful campus for the 2018-19 academic year! It has been my honor to serve as the interim vice chancellor of Vanderbilt University’s Office for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and I’m thankful to work alongside a community of inspiring change-agents who are committed to seeing Vanderbilt grow and evolve as an institution.

I would also like to introduce you to our newly announced Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and Chief Diversity Officer, James E. Page Jr., MBA. He will be joining our office later this week and we hope you will join with us in welcoming James and his family into the Vanderbilt community.

For the coming year, we have planned many engaging programs, events and training’s, all centered on providing the Vanderbilt community with the opportunity to engage in critical dialogue around some of the most timely and important issues in our world. We hope this will help our community better understand one another so we can appreciate our differences, celebrate our common goals and work together toward inclusive excellence.

Our office is excited for all that this new academic year will bring, and we look forward to partnering with you to make our community an inclusive space for everyone who calls Vanderbilt home.
