Winter Storm Update: All Appointments Canceled Tuesday (1/27); Moving Online Wednesday (1/28)-Friday (1/30)

In line with the university’s decision to cancel in-person classes, all Writing Studio and Tutoring Services appointments for Tuesday, 1/27 are canceled. All appointments for Wednesday (1/28) through Friday (1/30) will be moved online to account for continued concerns about travel, power outages, and cold temperatures.

Changes to Appointment Modality

Clients who already have in-person appointments reserved for Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday should receive an automated notice over email of a change to their appointment’s modality later tonight.

To help facilitate our en masse conversion of appointments from in-person to online both days, we will be changing the settings for all otherwise in-person-only Writing Consultants’ and STEM Tutors’ shifts to allow both online and in-person appointments, with online appointments as the default selection.

However, any clients who select the in-person appointment option Sunday or Monday will be notified that appointments are only available online during that period and see the appointment modality changed. Thank you for your patience and flexibility.

The impact of the winter storm is an evolving situation. We will announce any further changes to our operations with as much notice as possible, especially in light of any additional announcements or guidance from the university regarding Wednesday, 1/28, and the coming days.
