Title #1:  Novel Approaches to Deep Brain Stimulation

Speaker #1 Short Bio:  Dr. Sarah Bick joined the Department of Neurosurgery as an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery in August. After receiving her BA in neurobiology from Harvard University and MD from Vanderbilt Medical School she went on to complete residency training in Neurosurgery and fellowship training in functional neurosurgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Bick’s research is focused on understanding the neurophysiology underlying human cognitive and emotional processes, with the long term goal of developing novel neuromodulation indications and techniques

Michael Topf, MD, Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, VUMC

Title #2:  Carcinoma of Unknown Primary: An Emerging Population within Head and Neck Oncology

Speaker #2 Short Bio: Dr. Michael Topf is a head and neck surgical oncologist and microvascular reconstructive surgeon at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He completed residency at Thomas Jefferson University and fellowship in advanced head and neck oncology at Stanford University. His research interests include transoral robotic surgery, HPV-positive oropharyngeal cancer, and neoadjuvant clinical trials.
