Repository Benefits

We offer a permanent ownership option where you or your institution can become a data repository for the data sets you desire, chosen from the complete list of available data sets, including those prior to 2004. For those who wish access to data prior to 2004, the only option is to purchase the data as a repository.

Although your ownership is permanent, you may not distribute the data sets to third parties (who need to obtain their own access).

We encourage the use of the LAPOP/AmericasBarometer archive of survey data by researchers world-wide. Data Repository Agreements allow institutions and researchers to acquire as many data sets as they want for a one-time fee. The Repository Agreement states that the repository institution and/or researcher agrees in writing to follow U.S. Federal human subjects protection rules (IRB rules).
