Extensions

An extension request of a curent J-1 scholar or student intern must be submitted to ISSS before the current DS2019 expiration date. The maximum time allowable for a J-1  exchange visitor’s program extension depends on the J-1 visa category.  We recommend to submit extension request at least 30 days before the current DS-2019 expiration date. We will review and process the DS-2019 extenion upon receipt of all the required documents. You will receive notification from ISSS when the DS2019 extension document is available for pick up.
