Please consider your laboratory’s interest and ability to host a high school student for a research internship. These academically motivated students have a demonstrated interest in STEM research and participate in the School for Science and Math at Vanderbilt (SSMV) and the Research Experience for High School Students (REHSS) programs. They will be matched with labs for a 6-week summer internship during June and early July. SSMV students additionally meet with their laboratories for a few hours each week February – April and then again in the fall semester to prepare for national science competitions and publications. The sponsoring organization, The Collaborative for STEM Education and Outreach, hosts a summer research symposium, provides support for protection of minors compliance, and provides students with supplemental learning sessions to support their internship. This is a great opportunity for laboratory outreach, science education, Broader Impacts, fellowship applications, and mentoring experience. Please contact angela.eeds@vanderbilt.edu with interest and inquiries.
