Data Science Institute

Qinlian Yang is a rising senior at Vanderbilt University. She is majoring in Mathematics and she has minors in Computer Science and Business. The interdisciplinary coursework at school enables her to explore multiple academic areas and triggers her interest in Data Science, especially in the field of Quantitative Finance. In two of her previous internship experiences, Qinlian worked as a data analyst, where she was responsible for analyzing financial data to provide insights and solutions to the Sales Management Team, also as an investment analyst, where she gained extensive experience managing data warehouse and overseeing investment portfolio performance. In DSI-SRP, she will further incorporate Machine Learning methods into financial analysis. Through this extensive research experience, she hopes to have both academic growth and professional preparations.
