Resources at Vanderbilt 

The Center for Cognitive Medicine

Provides free memory screenings as well as resources related to Alzheimer’s and Dementia. 

OLLI at Vanderbilt

OLLI at Vanderbilt helps adults over 50 rediscover the joy of learning and build community through diverse social interaction.

Osher Center for Integrative Medicine 

Vanderbilt's Osher Center for Integrative Medicine offers a range of services, classes and training focused on your total health mind, body and spirit .

Supplemental Life/Will Preparation

If you are a Vanderbilt employee and enrolled in MetLife’s Supplemental Life Insurance coverage, you and your spouse may take advantage of Will Preparation services.

Vanderbilt Home Care provides caregivers for you in an environment where you feel most comfortable and independent.

Vanderbilt Memory & Alzheimer’s Center

VMAC has clinic services for adults experiencing memory loss as well as a support group for Caregiver and Early Stage Alzheimer’s Patients. Please contact them directly for information on their meetings 615-322-8676.

The mission of the Center for Quality Aging is to foster multidisciplinary aging research to improve quality of care and quality of life for older adults across a variety of care settings.

Age Well Middle Tennessee

Age Well Middle Tennessee’s mission is to champion informed and positive aging and serve as the area’s catalyst for collaborative solutions.  Counties served are Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Houston, Humphreys, Montgomery, Robertson, Rutherford, Stewart, Sumner, Trousdale, Williamson & Wilson.

Eldercare Coach Consult

Eldercare Coach Consult, through Age Well Middle Tennessee, is a confidential conversation with a geriatric specialist to determine the best plan for you and your family.

Elder Care Locator 

The Eldercare Locator is a nationwide service that connects older Americans and their caregivers with trustworthy local support resources.

Fifty Forward 

Through seven  locations  and a variety of programs in Davidson and Williamson counties, FiftyForward provides enrichment opportunities for adults 50 and older to remain engaged in living their lives to the fullest.

Nashville Parks and Recreation | Senior Recreation Program  

Metro Parks Senior Recreation Program provides services and activities specifically designed for those who are 55 years of age and older. Three designated senior sites; East, Elizabeth, and Hadley, along with nine satellite programs in neighborhood centers, provide a variety of programs including visual arts, dance, crafts, and other recreational pursuits.

Senior Directory provides up-to-date information on senior housing, home care, and over 70 categories of services throughout the United States.

Tennessee 2-1-1

Serves as a  state-wide community services referral line. 2-1-1 has a database of more than 10,000 cross-referenced health and human services and is staffed by trained specialists who can help callers find the closest place to get help. All calls are free and confidential.

Tennessee Area Agency 

The Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability is the designated state agency on aging and is mandated to provide leadership relative to aging issues on behalf of older persons in the state.

Counseling Resources 

Vanderbilt Work-Life Connections- EAP

The Employee Assistance Program of Work/Life Connections-EAP is available to Vanderbilt staff including full-time, part-time and TempForce employees and their spouses.

Alive Hospice

Alive’s Grief Center offers a place of comfort for anyone facing a loss. Support is available to caregivers and families coping with a life-limiting illness as well as children and adults who are bereaved.

 

Transportation Resources 

Senior Ride Nashville

Senior Ride Nashville is an affordable, assisted ride service that pairs a senior who needs a ride with a volunteer who can give one.

GoGo Grandparent

GoGoGrandparent turns on-demand transportation companies like Lyft into services that help families take better care of older adults.

Metropolitan Social Services 

Provides transportation to certain area nutrition sites in Davidson County.  (615-862-8840)

Mid-Cumberland Human Resource Agency

Provides curb-to-curb transportation in the 12 counties surrounding Davidson County during the week (Monday through Friday). Reservations are requested 24 hours in advance for local trips and 72 hours in advance for out-of-county trips.

Nashville MTA Access Ride

The Nashville Metropolitan Transit Authority's (MTA) Access program is a publicly funded paratransit service, which operates specialized van services for persons with disabilities who are unable to use regular fixed-route buses. Access provides door-to-door paratransit service within Davidson County, excluding commuter or express service.
