About

Brightspace is Vanderbilt University’s primary course management system, providing a core set of digital tools designed to support teaching and learning across campus. This website provides information about Brightspace to Vanderbilt faculty, staff, and students.

Administration

The Vanderbilt University Institute for the Advancement of Higher Education (AdvancED) serves as Brightspace’s administrative home and provides both technical and pedagogical support for instructors using Brightspace. The EdTech Team includes:

• Connor Bacon, Associate Director of Digital Media and Learning Technology
• Michael Coley, Lead Instructional Technologist
• Kayla Chapman, Instructional Technologist

Governance

The Office of the Provost oversees the university’s course management system.

The Course Management System Advisory Committee has approved a number of policies relevant to Brightspace use, including the following:
