Spring 2022 Writing Studio Update on Availability and Locations

The Writing Studio is open for the Spring 2022, and as of Monday, January 31, in-person appointments have returned to our schedule alongside our synchronous online appointments.

For the duration of this semester, in-person appointments Sundays through Fridays will take place primarily at the Curb Center Building (1801 Edgehill Ave.), Ste. 112, as well as our continuing satellite hours in Zeppos Residential College and elsewhere.

This semester the Writing Studio will not be offering appointments in the Commons Center, Room 217 (“Commons 217”).

However, please rest assured that the same great in-person support is available a short walk away in the Curb Center building at the corner of 18th Ave and Edgehill Ave.

Update: “Mask Optional” as of March 9, 2022

As announced March 9, the university no longer requires masking or physical distancing indoors. All individuals continue to have the option of wearing a mask indoors, including in the Writing Studio, which joins the university in continuing to support those who want to wear a mask at any time for any reason and in expecting all community members to respect one another, as well.

Calendar Updates for Spring 2022

On Tuesday, January 18, the Writing Studio will resume offering appointments for synchronous online writing consultations for the Spring 2022 semester.

All appointments will be held online through Sunday, January 30, after which we look forward to phasing in-person writing consultations back into our schedule, as well.

The final day for Writing Studio consultation appointments in Spring 2022 will be Sunday, May 8.

Policy Updates: 7-day Appointment Scheduling Window

For the Spring 2022 semester, we will also be temporarily updating our Appointment Policies such that appointments can be made up to seven days in advance, rather than 14 days in advance.

The 7-day appointment scheduling window will allow us greater flexibility in adjusting our writing consultants’ shifts (for instance, between online and in-person shifts) as circumstances may require this semester.

Thank you for your patience and understanding with this change.
