The Lightning Accelerator is a biomedical accelerator that will aid in closing the gaps between academic research, biomedical innovation commercialization, and entrepreneurship at Vanderbilt University and the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, while improving economic development opportunities across campus, the city and region. This tailored program helps de-risk ideas and build a roadmap to transform innovation into a solution that has real world commercial and human impact.

Participants of the program must:
- Attend all sessions.
- Meet with their assigned mentor each week.
- Participate in office hours with the instructors.
- Complete weekly program deliverables.
Participants of the program will Pitch to a group of ecosystem partners, investors, and key opinion leaders in the biomedical industry.
