To participate in personal training, you must be a Vanderbilt student or have a Rec Center membership. By participating in this service, you agree to the policies and procedures set forth by the David Williams II Recreation and Wellness Center.
The first step in getting started with a personal trainer is to complete and submit the interest form to Mary Wolk, Assistant Director of Fitness. Once interest form is received, the Assistant Director of Fitness will contact you by email to inform you how you can proceed with registration.
Once you are notified that you can proceed with a personal trainer, you will also be instructed to complete the following registration forms, available at the front desk:
All sessions with a trainer must be scheduled in advance. It is expected that you be on time to begin your session as scheduled. Arriving and starting late does not entitle you to go beyond the length that the session was scheduled, since this could extend into your personal trainer’s next appointment.
After completing a session with the trainer, you must sign the session log sheet indicating the date and time you completed your session. Your sessions will be tracked by the Assistant Director of Fitness and you will be notified when you are out of sessions and need to purchase more if you desire to continue working with your trainer.
Once cleared to work with a personal trainer and all your registration forms have been completed, you will pay for your training sessions in advance of meeting with the personal trainer. All payments must be made in person at the welcome desk with a major credit card.
There are no refunds for personal training sessions, and sessions cannot be transferred to another individual. Any sessions that are not used expire 4 months from date of purchase.
To cancel an appointment, clients must contact their personal trainers directly at least 24 hours in advance. If your personal trainer is not notified within this time frame, you will be charged for that session. Not showing up for your scheduled appointment will also result in being charged for the session.
