Fitness Instructional Programs

Fitness Instructional Programs are included with membership, but registration is required to attend. The Rec’s Group Fitness Program provides a fun and energetic environment with a wide variety of classes designed to encourage and support an active, healthy lifestyle.

Classes are held in the fitness studios on the second floor of the Rec Center. Join us for one class or many, and experience the benefits of group fitness for yourself!

Fitness Instructional Programs Fall '25

Ballet Dance

This class provides a comprehensive introduction to ballet. Participants will learn fundamental techniques including basic positions, barre work, center exercises, across-the-floor progressions, and choreographic concepts that build from week to week. No prior dance experience is required. Regular attendance is encouraged to support skill development and progression.

  • Day: Tuesdays
  • Time: 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM

    • Session I: August 26 to October 7
    • Session II: October 14 to Dec 2

Shotokan Karate

This class introduces Shotokan karate, a traditional Japanese martial art. Students will learn and practice stances, blocks, and movement while progressing at their own pace. Classes meet twice per week and are open to all levels. Each session is divided into two parts: the first hour focuses on beginner techniques, while the second hour is dedicated to intermediate and advanced practice.

  • Days: Mondays & Wednesdays             
  • Time: 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM                 
  • Location: Studio A
  • Dates:
    • Session I: August 20 to October 6
    • Session II: October 8 to December 3
