Mission

International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) is a team of passionate and experienced international educators dedicated to advocating for and supporting the international community at Vanderbilt. Through holistic advising, collaborative programming and advocacy, ISSS fosters the development and education of international students and scholars and supports the creation of a more intercultural and inclusive community at Vanderbilt. We strive to create a safe and supportive environment where international students and scholars feel empowered to make informed decisions and have the tools to navigate a challenging and diverse living and learning experience.

Strategic Goals for 2025-26

• Improve the speed, clarity, and reach of policy, support, and immigration communications through coordinated messaging, new formats, and proactive outreach.
• Optimize the client experience by enhancing website and database functionality and incorporating AI-driven best practices for improved user engagement, service delivery, and to support institutional planning.
• Increase access to career tools, employer insights, and alumni connections to support post-graduation success.
