CoEvoD Training Program

Welcome to the home page for the Computational Evolutionary Approaches to Disease Training Grant funded by the NIH/NIGMS grant T32 GM150407. Below you will find links to helpful pages related to this program.

Our training grant, which started in Fall 2025, provides world-class training for graduate students in their second and/or third year pursuing research in evolutionary topics related to disease using computational methods. The program, which fills a critical and unmet need in graduate training at Vanderbilt University (VU) / Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), includes core courses in evolutionary medicine and computational evolutionary methods, seminar and journal club series, electives, and excellent career development activities. Our roster of faculty presents a broad spectrum of research opportunities at the interface of computational biology, evolutionary biology, bioinformatics, and data sciences and is unique among all training programs on our campus.
