Katie Foster

Creative Writing Fellow


Katie Young Foster grew up in the Sandhills of Nebraska. She is an M.F.A. Fiction candidate at Vanderbilt University and the 2016-17 Creative Writing Fellow at The Curb Center, where she leads expressive writing workshops for individuals impacted by cancer. She is the founder and coordinator of Lit Mag League, a program through The Porch Writer’s Collective in Nashville, Tennessee that cultivates a community of readers who appreciate and discuss literary magazines as relevant and valuable cultural artifacts. Her stories have appeared or are forthcoming in The Masters Review Anthology, Arcadia, The Boiler Journal, SmokeLong Quarterly, and elsewhere. She is the winner of The Masters Review Anthology contest judged by Amy Hempel, and has been recognized by Arcadia Magazine’s Dead Bison Editors’ Prize in Fiction and the Zoetrope: All-Story Short Fiction contest.
