Creative Campus Initiative
The Curb Center’s Creative Campus Initiative supports students, faculty, and staff as they integrate their creativity and disciplinary knowledge to solve problems and advance innovation for the public good. The Initiative, endowed by the Mike Curb Family Foundation, supports our Curb Scholars Program for undergraduate students; Creative Inquiry grants for Vanderbilt undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff; and a robust calendar of exhibitions, performances, and artist engagements at the Curb Center, on Vanderbilt’s campus, and in the broader Nashville community.
We aim to embed creative practice throughout the entire campus experience—from first-year orientation to graduation—by:
- supporting a community of catalysts and innovators—faculty, staff, students, and Nashville community members who thrive on making the unexpected happen in their classrooms, research, and work;
- provoking conversations that bring together unexpected parties and inspire novel approaches to engaging ideas, debates, and problems;
- nurturing creativity at Vanderbilt by sponsoring arts-related programs and projects across campus;
- and illuminating extraordinary and everyday creative lives, including the common creative process that threads through artistic, scientific, entrepreneurial, and design work.
