Savor art, history, culture, and cuisine in this captivating small group journey to a collection of Italy’s classic cities: cosmopolitan Milan; Verona, “little Rome;” Bologna, with its medieval charm and culinary delights; Renaissance-tinged Florence, and the Eternal City of Rome. Add in a pleasing combination of guided touring and ample free time-and it’s magnifico! We begin in Milan where we explore the marvelous Milan Cathedral, (the Duomo) the world’s third largest La Scala Opera house. Next, we visit the Lake District and enjoy a stunning cruise on Like Como in the foothills of the snowcapped Alps. On to Verona, rich with its Shakespeare connections, we visit Juliet’s House; the 13th century home of the Del Capello family said to be the inspiration for the infamous play. Ending the tour in historic Rome, we visit the famed Borghese Gallery and have ample free time to explore the city independently.
