March 11-15, 2015

Four Curb Scholars – Rachel Anand, Serena Deutch, Ben Shane, and Celina Miranda – traveled to various places in Louisville, Kentucky and St. Louis, Missouri with Program Directors Elizabeth Meadows and Hillery Pate, as well as students from the University of Kentucky.

In Louisville, the Scholars toured Wild Turkey Distillery and met with the architects who renovated it, the DeLeon & Primmer Workshop. They also toured a glassblowing studio, Flame Run, as well as 21st Century Parks and City Collaborative/Forest Giant.

From there, the Scholars traveled to St. Louis, where they toured the Screwed Arts Collective and the Element restaurant. They also visited City Museum (see video below, courtesy of Curb Scholar Rachel Anand) and toured the city with Bob Hansman. The tour included several surrounding towns, including Ferguson, as well as the Ville, a neighborhood within St. Louis.
