Faculty Spotlight: Alexander Christensen

This week, we feature Professor Alexander Christensen, an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology and Human Development. He currently teaches courses DS 3100: Fundamentals of Data Science, DS 5740: Advanced Statistics for Data Scientists, and PSY-GS 8875: Behavioral Data Science. Professor Christensen’s education began in the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He then continued his education in the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, earning a PhD in Social Psychology. When asked about his passion for the field, Professor Christensen remarked, “My passion for data science is rooted in my love for science. Data science is a bridge that integrates across scientific disciplines, fostering multidisciplinary environments and collaborations. Understanding data science has facilitated my understanding of other scientific domains that, in turn, has enriched and expanded my own research endeavors.”
