How to Join

Vanderbilt University is home to four governing councils that each contribute to the overall success of our community. Each council, and their member organizations strive to provide a beneficial experience to all of its members. The links below will provide you with more information about the recruitment or membership intake processes for each council.

Eligibility Requirements For All Potential New Members

In order to be eligible to join any fraternity or sorority within our community, a potential member must:

  • Have at least a 2.50 grade point average and have completed at least 12 credit hours
    For potential new members planning to participate in Panhellenic recruitment, there is an appeal form that will be available December 1st that you can fill out if you won’t meet one or both of these requirements.
  • Not currently be on disciplinary probation
  • Attend a Consent Education session offered by Project Safe
    • September 8th in Carmichael College, 1406 (MPR)for transfer and upper division students
    • September 29th in Carmichael College, 1406 (MPR)
    • October 14th in Commons MPR
    • November 17th in Carmichael College, 1406 (MPR)
    • All sessions are from 5:00 pm-6:00 pm
  • Satisfy the additional joining requirements for the Council in which they are pursuing membership
