Grade 11: Summer Research II

Grade 11: Summer Research II

The Summer Research II course is designed to give students further insights into designing and undertaking a scientific research project, as well as the necessity of effective communication with the scientific community and general public.

Students showcase the results of their sophomore project, an Augmented Reality educational app created for the Nashville Zoo.

Teams first design a scientific poster about their spring semester research which they present to their peers, families, and members of the Vanderbilt community at the Joint Retreat Research Symposium. Students then continue or expand upon those group projects for the rest of the three weeks. The teams will be expected to convene regularly to share progress, constructive input, and strategic next steps throughout the session.

In the fall, students move on to the Interdisciplinary Science III class.
