Posted by on Thursday, March 14, 2024 in News.

The David Steine Economics and Business Award in the Undergraduate Business Minor Program honors the memory and distinguished career of David Steine, a professor held in the highest esteem by Vanderbilt alumnus James B. Johnson. Offering $1,000 for first place and $500 for second, the award spotlights a graduating student displaying exceptional talent and promise in business.

Candidates for the Steine Award must submit a minimum 500 word essay explaining how and why the Undergraduate Business Minor Program has enhanced their Vanderbilt experience and prepared them for a successful career. A committee of Business Studies faculty will select the best paper, taking into consideration whether the student’s academic record supports his or her arguments. Eligibility extends to any current senior from Vanderbilt’s four undergraduate schools who will be graduating Spring 2024 with a Business minor.

All entries are due no later than 4:00 pm on Friday, March 22nd.

All submissions and questions should be emailed to Lisa Wright. Please write “Steine Award” in the subject line.
