Q&A

What is cloud computing?

Cloud computing is using devices connected to the internet to access data stored remotely on other computers or servers. Vanderbilt has engaged Oracle to manage the university’s cloud applications and data.

What measures will be in place to protect our information in the cloud?

Oracle maintains a network of data centers with multiple layers of security, including physical security safeguards, network access controls and firewalls.

Read more about these measures in the SkyVU blog post or listen to members of Vanderbilt IT discuss security measures in the webinar.
