Day of Discovery (Stratford cluster)
This Day of Discovery (DoD) class is available to 7th and 8th grade students at Issac Litton Middle School.
Students will be able to participate in extended learning activities including fieldwork and experimentation, and build skills necessary for taking advanced courses in high school, specifically critical reading, writing, and communication. With these skill sets strengthened, Day of Discovery will serve as a preparatory program for students interested in taking Advanced Placement courses and/or applying for the Interdisciplinary Science & Research program at Stratford and/or the School for Science and Math at Vanderbilt.
Students will arrive to school as normal and will participate in Day of Discovery activities during 1st and 2nd period one day a week. They may also continue working on projects during Lion Time, if needed. The day of the week students attend DoD will be the same all year. The scheduling has been worked out with school teachers and administrators to minimize disruption to the class your students are already taking.
