Marnett stepping down as dean of Basic Sciences

Lawrence J. Marnett, PhD, will step down as dean of Vanderbilt University’s School of Medicine Basic Sciences effective June 30, 2022. He was its inaugural dean and key in leading its ascension as one of the nation’s top biomedical research & doctoral programs. He plans to return to the faculty in 2023 after taking a sabbatical.
