The D2L Lumi Pro is a collection of AI-powered tools designed to enhance teaching, learning, and support within Brightspace at Vanderbilt. These tools provide intelligent assistance tailored to learners, instructors, and administrators by automating help, improving engagement, and streamlining content access. Each tool serves a unique function within the learning environment. These tools are available to faculty only in Brightspace.

Data Privacy & Lumi Pro

Vanderbilt’s agreement with D2L protects faculty intellectual property by ensuring that:

  • D2L does not own input content.
  • D2L does not own output content.
  • D2L will not use input content to train the Generative AI models.

Vanderbilt’s agreement with D2L requires that users will not represent that output content is human-generated when it is not. Instructors who choose to use Lumi or any AI tool should include a statement in their syllabus.
