Max Hackenbrack, MBA
Program Manager, Undergraduate Data Science Minor
Max Hackenbrack is Program Manager for the Undergraduate Data Science Minor at Vanderbilt University’s College of Connected Computing, where he oversees a program serving over seven hundred students, or 10% of the university’s undergraduate population. In this role, he manages course registration, faculty affairs, curriculum development, and strategic planning, collaborating closely with academic leadership and university departments. Max brings a data-driven approach to higher education administration, focusing on connecting strategic vision to tactical execution to support program excellence and student success.
Max holds an MBA in Operations & Analytics and Strategy from Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management. At Owen, he was President of the Student Government Association and recipient of the H. Igor Ansoff Award for original and creative contributions to the school. Max also holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Prior to joining Vanderbilt, he spent six years as a Naval Architect and Lead Engineer at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Committed to impactful leadership, he is also a member of the Technology Committee of Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.
