Christmas at the Commons

Posted by on Friday, December 7, 2012 in News.

The Ingram Commons Center held a Christmas service for the first year students with carols, readings and a lighting of the outdoor Christmas tree by Frank Wcislo, Dean of the Ingram Commons. As part of the larger Holiday of Lights festival, the student gathered for some festive cheer before studying for finals begins.

Led by Associate University Chaplain  Reverend Gretchen Person, students gathered in the Commons Center Multipurpose Room to sing carols, hear scripture readings, participate in prayer and hear a reflection. After, the service moved outdoors as Frank Wcislo, Dean of the Ingram Commons, ceremoniously lit the Christmas Tree. This service was a collaborative effort by the Ingram Commons Center and Lutheran Student Ministry (ELCA). Beautifully decorated, this tree remains outside the Commons Center for all to enjoy as the semester winds down with finals week before students go on break.
